How to use own sound files?

I have downloaded the 1755 old frontier mod and thought of changing a few musket fire sounds that i didnt like.

So how can I put my own musket fire sounds?
I tried deleting some original files from the sound folder and added new ones and replaced the names, but I kept hearing the old sounds. Is it possible to change them?

Did you replace the sounds in the respective mods folder?

say

Mount&Blade/modules/Old_frontier/sounds/

instead of Mount&Blade/sounds/

And kep the exact same names?

I placed them in the mod I wanted to change, and changed their names to what the mod originally had for its files

if u want to hear music when u fire (awesome) go to ur music (easy with windows 7) and replace with it (but of course copy and paste) or u can use other mods sounds
