How to setup a dedicated server?

Hello guys!
I tried to find some information about this here in the forums, but didn't found it.
Is linux a supported hosting OS for M&B Warband? If yes, where can I get the serverfiles?
I'm a betatester, who simply wants to setup a 100mbit Linuxrootserver (Debian 5.1) for a M&B Gameserver for test reasons. (want to see hardware/bandwith requirement for example)

Are there allready some details about hosting M&B and the serverfiles?

As has been said he is very busy.

he doesnt replay anymore, he jsut adds you to a list and you get server files sent yo your email address

when u send a PM add your email address*

thats what he done to CoR i heard.

He replied to me like 10 times aswell

but that was in the starting ;9 now he doesnt replay anymore it seems by all others who recived the files

maybe he likes me :O? thought he didnt replay to me when i sent him a msg about what car he should buy when he is a billionare

As far as i know there are not linux binary avaible.
Before the actual configuration, i got a rented machine with ubuntu server, running just the core and running the server trough wine from the command line! And it worked. Absolutely amazing.
I had a crappy machine though (emulated 3ghz core / 2gb ram / 10mbit) and wine used as background process sucks very much resources, so i wasn't able to handle more than 24 people or so. With a proper machine, anyway, you shouldn't suffer any probem. Today, "The Courtyard" is running on Linux, with the same technique, doing a great job so far.

No. I'd wait until you get the files officially. It is a gesture of trust by armagan that you receive those files. They shouldn't be shared between the players unless explicit permission is given somewhere.

Yeah - funnily enough M&B seems to work fairly well under wine. If I buy an old machine to act as a dedicated server for the IRC clan I might well try running linux on it.

Be patient - I think it was quite a few weeks before Armagan got back to me - he is a busy man. There are plenty of empty servers too, I don't think more servers is his priority.

I got some stuff working with my dedicated server but was wondering if I could get anyones MSN contact to discuss some issues I am having.

I would really like to be able to join my own game, but I can't despite friends being able to join it. That's my main issue at this point.

If anyone could contact me, that would be great, just PM me

It's hard to test things if I can't join myself
