Knight
hey guys, i was wondering how can i make the dark knights recruitable in Zendar??? can u guys give me a hand? im used to mod almost every game, but certainly i dont understand most of Mount & blade code

You could always attack caravans who have Dark Knights as prisoners. That's how I recruited the ones stationed at my keep.

there's two methods. In game, attack anyone who has dark knights or hunters as prisoners. To accelerate this, change sides: as a vaegir, join some vaegirs fighting dark knights. Knock em out with a big sledghammer, let the other party take all the prisoners, then go and sign on with the swadians. Now destroy the vaegir party you helped against the d. knights.

In the mod editor, parties, give tihr_mercs dark knights instead of what they have now. then you can buy them in the tavern. You can also increase the number available.

i cant find the tihr_mercs on the parties menu... i tried add them as prisioners to the mountain bandids but it didnt worked either, im using the Beta version of the Mount & blade editor by the way

rats and mice!! I'd love to be mroe helpful, but it will have to wait until everything is working again.... lightning doth strike.
Anyway, tihr-mercs.
select "view" Parties (not party templates)
look at the top, there is the entry for "player" followed by about 10 others all with the names of the towns. You can alter any one of these, really.
I had the latest mbedit version, not any more (hairs get a bit grayer)
so I'm not sure how yours looks....
Adding them as prisoners should work, I think this is done in party templates. Make sure you put in a high minimum and maximum number and i don't see any problems. then again, right now I don't see anything cos it's all a bit fried.

here - python script to recruit dark hunters.... you can change the dialogs to recruit anyone, change amounts, whatever. just exchange it for the existing converstaion in 'module_dialogs.py'.

i'd think you'd also want ta add a negative consequence - like change the relations of innocents and nutrals because of your interaction with the bad guys.... but thats up to you.... you can change the hiring amount or do away with it all together....

# Mod m3 Dark hunters - eventually, you'll be able to join them,
#if you want, and loll about beating up on everyone, taking slaves - at the cost of your soul...

if you wanted to add a layer of complexity, get a scheme to count the troops in the party and multiply it by a number, set or randaom, so that the recruitment cost is more believably flexibale. what i've submitted is just a down and dirty assuming 20 or so dark hunter/black knights in the default party.

if you release it in a mod, just give me credit somewhere.

someone else can post Unofficial Editor directions to add a scheme to recruit just about any party you come accross.

You can do it with the editor too but..
That depends if you can figure out which on is tulga/any other city.
They're all numbered o_o

Though you could just do Zendar

EDIT:
I lied.
It doesn't seem to change anything.
*tear*

this is what i did, i added them as prisoners in party templates and then i just waited for they to spawn, wasted those river pirates and then took those black knights for meeeee!!!! on this cases... cheating is good  thank's a lot guys, now im gonna try the script to see how it works

you could also add an npc in a city, and dialog it out so you hire or get any number of troops of any type by request or for money.

for fun i pythoned a priest who let me take a dozen acolytes for 10 days to do a mission... then the survivors triggered out at the term end with a good-bye and travelled back to their origination point.

you could do the same with a straight hire, that someone did in the searaider mod back in vers .630 or whatever. he added a character in a town you could hire manhunters from the slaver, and khergit raiders from a kherg in dhorak.

bunch of ways to do it.
