how to make spearmen use swords

So during sieges my army gets crushed because my spearmen aren't doing damage close quarters with spears. I played a bunch of mods that add extra orders you are able to give troops, although i cant seem to find a list of those anywhere.

Anyone know the keybind or how to make spearmen use their swords? or whatever secondary weapon they may have.

usually spearmen switch to 1h and shield when they're not fighting a horseman, so either your spearmen don't have a secondary or it's just the game showing its age, but if your spearmen have blunt weapons you could f4-f3 to make them use clubs and such but the only spearmen with blunt weapons are sarranid guards. or a simple solution would be to not use spearmen at all.
