How to make peace as own kingdom?

I didnt see it posted for native expansion.

Once you own your own kingdom how do you make peace?

I went to my enemies and asked for peace and was told that i am sworn to a lordless faction and that i cant have peace with anyone.

my persuasion is 4, i have downloaded the latest patch...

is there something im missing or can you just not make peace when you go it alone?

Hmm strange, when I ask my enemies they just ask me for a ridiculous amount of money, and my persuasion is only 2. You own your own castles and towns?

One time I asked a lord who hated me for peace, and he rejected the offer. Then I went to a lord who was neutral to me, and he gave me the option to pay for it. So it may be because who you asked.

i asked someone whos disposition was positive 2.. i am only at war with them... might that be why?

but im pretty sure last time i went this was veagris declared war on me for no reason, hadnt even seen them in battle nor touched their carvans was utterly nuetural, and when i went to askf or peace they said the same to me...

is there a file i can edit etc?

Make sure you have the latest version properly installed. Does it say .544 in the M&B launcher. Do you have all the other features working. Are you using any other mods and is it a new game or old save file. If none then, .... i dunno

How do you declare war on someone as a marshall? Or make peace. Shouldn't you at least be allowed to suggest it to your king?

You can't, unfortunately.

I have a similar problem.

- As a Nord vassal, I fought hard and was granted a castle. Then I took Halmar.

- When King Ragnar refused to grant me Halmar, I rebelled and started my own kingdom.

- I am now at war with the Nords. I made peace with the Khergits, but the Nords won't even suggest to make peace with me.

- ... Yet Apparently I can be sworn back into nordic vassalage.


So, I'm asking you this: Is this the only way to make peace with my previous faction? Abandon my independance?

It shouldn't be. Try asking as many lords as possible.

Pretty sure the only way to make peace with the faction you betrayed is to swear allegiance again or to utterly defeat them.

Trouble is, I don't want those Nord Lands. I want my independant Republic to remain as territorially coherent and "Halmarian" as possible...

Edit: Actually, making peace with my former faction was quite easy. I just got the 'Make Sure the Lords won't object to peace' quest by the Guildmaster of Halmar. Costly, but efficient.
