how to install a mod?

I'm kinda new to using mods in PC games. I am using vista. so it's kinda a pain to uninstall something if it doesn't work right by fault of my own. or little pieces of data don't go away when they should and I have to run a defrag to get rid of the problem.
So my question is, what do I have to do to install a mod to a program if anything? in otherwords is there a process to installing it or is it just point and click?

If its an installer, just run it and make sure it goes to your M&B modules folder.

If its just a folder, then copy and paste it into the module folder yourself
so for me it would be
Drive C -> Program Files -> Mount&Blade -> Modules.

To the OP and anyone else concerned, if you still have problem finding the place where you installed the M&B directory, simply locate it through the shortcut.
To do so, right click on the M&B shortcut (symbol on the desktop if you don't know) and bring up the menu. Click "properties".

Sooner or later, a new window will pop up, on that window is a button called "Find Target", pushing that button will bring you to the M&B directory.

Remember to extract first !

Ok, hears the thing. i followed bugmans instructions to the letter and out of the three mods i installed only one shows up as an option. I'm running Windows xp so i cant be a vista related bug. any advice or remedy for this?

Ceck if they're all for the version of the game you have installed. Mods for version .960, .903, .808 etc won't work with 1.011.

But they'd still be an option...


Anyways, chances are you moved the zipped file to your Modules folder, not the Mod's actual folder.
