The leadership stat, at least for me, is completely broken. It hardly increases despite filling the criteria needed(having lots of various kinds of food).

How to increase party size?

Renown. This is the only way, it seems. You have to grind a /lot/. One of the worst parts about this game so far.

By gaining Renown. You get it by winning fights. Harder the fight, the more Renown you get.

I don't think that's the case as I have a very high stewardship skill just gained from having a lot of food and high morale.

I’m also having a hard time determining what grants leadership XP. Moral is high and have all the food varieties in my inventory. I have the max army size I can (77) and it’s just not leveling. I have three focus points in it.

The big way to raise leadership seems to be by raising armies. (The faction armies that involve other lords following you not your own party) My leadership skill started to rise pretty fast while I was leading an army.

Guys, is there a way to passively increase influence?

Yes, the kingdom rules can increase/decrease incluence in a passive way.
Edit: And you get a passive increase also when you have a fief nop just realiced it was another kingdom rule with the name of fief-something hahah but I found another way, you get a small increase when being in an army

How do you manage to keep morale high? I barely reach 65 with food variety +6 .

The main glitch here is that your army is not an army unless you are part of someone's kingdom. I think both leadership and stewardship can increase the size but the leadership part is broken in that it does not recognize your independent adventuring as gaining leadership.

Livestock count as food so I added cow, sheep and pigs to my inventory. Then I battled lords with more troops than I had. I always try to shoot for +8 food variety.

It’s not possible to maintain for long periods of time, but you can get it there and get some XP. It’s not a viable grinding or leveling method really.

My wife gives me +20 party size. Although she's completely useless in battle I do carry her around with me

Kingdom policys can give vassals and kings boost in party size; There is a policy that allows tier 4+ clans a 50 increase to pary size and a king policy that lets king have 80 increase to party size.

I have noted the same morale effect of staying in the 60's but a string of successful battles will push it higher.

Faction policies allow you to increase influence gain depending on your clan tier

For BASE party size, it's stewardship skill, renown, and any clan policy that affects party size

After that it's morale that affects party size
