How to get Prisoners in jail

Hi I have a question.  How do I get the prisoners in jail?  I had a lord in my possesion and walked to a castle and talked to the prison guard and talked to the lord and couldnt find the option.  I ended up just selling him back.  After reading some posts here I see you can put him in jail but the posts don't say the exact process on how to do that.

I know this is probably an easy question but I looked all over the place.  Thanks for your help.

It has to be your own jail, you need to own a castle or a town first. Other lords of your faction may also offer to buy the captured lord from you and imprison them themselves, but that's simply a random chance.

Go to one of your Castle/town, then go the "Garrison Troops" menu and you can give prisoners to your prison here.

If you own a castle you can also build a "Prisoners's Tower" which decreases the chances of a captured enemy lord escaping.
