How to get mods to work? Game won't load with any

I extract or copy mod folders into Modules but the game crashes without ever even opening the splash screen. I used only mods that instructed me to copy or extract to the folder to the Modules folder.

I posted in support but no response... and saw similar unanswered posts there. So, I'd appreciate NOT removing this post, even if Support seems like the better fit. Am just looking for advice from the community now.

I recommend using Vortex for now to install mods off Nexus to avoid issues, do bear in mind however that some mods aren't compatible with the beta branch or the current stable version.

I do not understand Vortex though. It says mods installed & enabled, but they do not show up in the load order

Okay, deploy mode. Then its back to failing though. Hm.

"Missing dependencies: CustomBattle" is an error in a red X on Vortex

Verify your files. And make sure the mods you download don't require some other mods like ModLib, BannerLib or some such.
