How to get cattle to NPC?

Sanjar Khan asked me to get him some cattle, but I can't get the cattle I stole from a village to him. I'm really confused!

Cattle don't follow you, you have to drive them.

Click on them and select "Drive" from the menu. Now ride towards your target destination keeping behind the cattle. They'll run from you mostly in a straight line thoughthey will veer off every now and again. Just keep moving yourself so the cattle are always between you and the destination.

yeah, without that tweak cattle always move away from from in a radially outward direction...and with a really slow speed...
annoying as hell and almost impossible to get them over the bridges...

hats off to magelord for that tweak..

Herding cattle is easy (though still slow) if you have a really fast party. But I guess its even easier with the tweak : )

You can always click on them to get the "stop the herd" option, then camp for the night and resume in the morn.

Or, of course, you could take the quest and then ignore it.  That's what I usually do. I've found that it usually gets canceled before the time expires.  In my last three games, I've only had the quest fail once.

I've had it fail three times so far in my current game, so that might not be good advice. Depending on whether the reputation hit matters to you.
