How to export character to another module?

Like in the topic ---> I have character 40+ lvl in native Warband. On the statistics screen i click "export" (I do it after every lvl up).

But i cannot import this chara in another game in Native, or in another module (I use the 1257 AD).

What is wrong?

You start new game in the chosen mod, name new character exactly the same as the exported one, then go into statistics screen of new one and click "import".

If you did that and it didn't work, than I have completely no idea how to help you.
