How to change soldier wages in a mod?

I am playing the latest extended gameplay mod, but my soldiers who are getting upgraded cost a lot (no cheats)...
So is there a way to lower the soldiers wages by a bit?

Ohh, let's not start this again. Head to the mods forum and ask how they handle the troop wages. If it's Native and they haven't touched anything, you can use the tweaks to change how much they consume. Most mods tweak wages to some extent.

Leadership lowers the wages by 5% per leadership level.

You could lower the troop levels, the base price you pay them is based off of that.
