How to cancel a caravan? Destination town has declared war on my faction...

Can anyone tell me how to cancel a caravan once u have accepted it?  Basically when I set the caravan up my faction was at peace with the destination faction though soon as I left they declared war and I will be screwed if i drive that slow ass caravan right into there heartland at the beginning of the war....
I dont care about losing my 8k down but I do car about my army, companion and gear I am using.

Has anyone cancelled a caravan before?

P.S.  I don't want to leave my faction if I can avoid it.

Oh and the actual caravan will not hold position if I ask him too otherwise I would just let him get sacked in enemy territory.  Is this a bug?

You can still take the caravan to he town and get money.  The Crimeans HATE me with a passion but I still was able to take a caravan to one of their cities and make bank.  I guess they will let the goods in and pay you but then tell you to get the eff out.

I did just run the gaunlet and get through before any big parties came along though a big risk to take for one caravan.
