How to award more than 1 fied to a companion?

Ok, so I can award 1 fief to a companion in my party, thus making him leave the party and become a lord.  How can I award a companion any fiefs after the initial one?

Right, I'd have thought that would do it, but my minister doesn't have those options.  Should I fire him?

You need to replace him with your wife.. and if you're still a single middle aged man who feels lonely, then join a social network site in hope to meet someone.. lol j/k.. appoint a companion instead until you get married
