How much Renown is needed?

How much Renown is needed to join the Lion faction? So far I'm at 185 and he's still telling me I need to show my competance.

Edit: Nevermind, just got my relationship with the leader up by 3 points and he let me join.

200 to be precise, and each point of positive relationship with the lord count as 5 renown.

I joined the vaegirs at 135 renown, i guess the tsar really liked me.

I managed to single-handedly besiege a castle and still not have enough renown to join a faction...

I tend to start getting invitations at around 220-230, but that may have something to do with the fact that I do a lot of tournament fighting. Seriously, half the time I'm just wandering around looking for the next one.
