How hard is Lords and Realms

I just started to play a new game in 1.504 and I am getting my ass beaten all the time. I cant form an army cause it gets destroyed by Sea Raiders or Outlaws. I can't win a tournament. Lost 3 already. Only money I get is from lords as arron boy. God, I love Lords and Realms. (Playing on suggested settings)

I don't think hard is the right word, I think L&R is unforgiving.

You can no longer solo armies as heavy armour checks horse archery and pikes/halberds check lancers.

Yeah, really like the current version.

Even with my 40+ imported char I overestimate my forces lately and lost even major battles. Because my Rhodok defeating enemy lost against Nords in the next battle - now they have 30 french, wales and english cavalry  Means a fast overview mapspeed ..
Tournaments are no problem.

In Praven i won a tournament with lev 3 char

Its so nice to win a more challenging competition <3 LaR

Yeah, it's definitely harder, but not too bad. I think unforgiving is, as mentioned before, the right word.

I think most of all though the learning curve is going to be much steeper now. You're going to attract a crowd that doesn't mind loosing a lot at first

Yes, I think M+B Native was Playing in a Sandbox. And L+R was Playing in a Middleage Sim, that was a hard nut. But he was Delicious, mjam.^^
I playing good with refugees-->Viking Insane Berserkers
                            refugees-->English Master Longbowman
                    Militia Recruit-->Teutonic Veteran Knight
                    Militia Recruit-->Teutonic Heavy Picman

A good Place to level was in the near of Enemy Lords. Follow them and help them in Battles. With a little bit luck 75% gain XP the Rest dies. Do you have enough level to hold 40 Man, you can Hunt at your own. Best way was fight in Tournaments to gain Troop Capacity.

I did about the same thing, but with Top Welsh Longbowmen and Rhodok Pikemen. I also threw in a few Gothic Knights for field battles.

Hey take a look on the teutonic picman. The Rhodok Picman have 5 HP more, but the teutonic picman have some points more in Strength and some skills like power strike then the Rhodok Picman.

Do you know the different between Welsh and English Bowman?

Nick is not a fan of too much hints for newbies

My favorite is the Teutonic Veteran Knight, he performs much better than the Constable (since the Constable lost his intelligence - takes too long to level + dies too fast). Rhodok Sharpshooter give arching support and Rhodok Veteran Infantry defend my walls. Gothic Knights also do a good job.

The top Welsh Longbowman is a higher level has a bit more hitpoints, more power draw/strike and accuracy.. 
But when combined with Veagir Marksman, the veagirs got most kills, don't know why ...

Hmm, thx. I thought the Constable of Jerusalem was the Best choose. Thx. I taste the welsh Bowman too.

Nerf Rhodook ranged units and it's perfect.

Longbows work better when holding your ground and i almost always play a defensive game.

In game no. You can mess with the text files before you establish your own kingdom.

I am playing this version 1.504 and I established in the game quite comfortably.  So, it seems to me the game isn't somehow exaggerately difficult.
