How does the DRM of the non-steam version work?

I have a 4x4 cd-key from the non-Steam version. How does the DRM of the non-Steam version work? Can I install the game to multiple PCs or just one? How many PCs can I install it to? If I uninstall it from a PC, do I get another install?

Multiple machines. 2 or 3 activations per 3 or 4 months. I can't ever remember the exact figures.

I've activated my Warband 4 times total without a problem (once on my old laptop, once on my new one; twice on my desktop (once initially and once when I reinstalled Windows) since I bought it in July 2010.

I don't think that syncs with the activation system on Taleworlds.com, so no, I don't believe so.
