How do YOU train your troops?

I gather a bunch of recruits and Fight things like Looters Or Bandits.

Other than that i focus on getting good with the villages, last time i recruited i got 20 Nord Warriors.

I get 4 companions, train them up by fighting a little bit of everything, and raise their training skill.

Then whenever I want troops, I gather them up from villages and in 3 days I have them trained to tier 4.

I keep hundreds of tier 2 units (very cheap to maintain) at my castle or town and when I inevitably need to replace some men I just stay there a couple days and have a new army.

I use a technique of reversing my troop order when I'm facing a foe that I know I can beat and then straightening it out when I face a tough battle. Those looters and bandits get to take on the recruits and tribesmen and the knights... well they take on eachother. I try to stay out of the easy battles and just run around with a shield up giving directions. I only usually step in if I seem to have messed something up like sending the archers in charging instead of infantry.

It will depend if you play the allied troops to half damage or normal. I play in half (the default) and usually you have nice trained troops has you go playing. When you want more trained troops, never remove all your trained ones (if you need garrissom them for exemple) let some of them like 50%, get the new troops from villages (depending from the nation you want and class) and go kill bandits that are in higther number. If you got 24 troops with half untrained, get like 35-40 bandit group and fight. If any die you only loose 10 denars for each man, but mostly will survive and if you have good surgery, its all fine. Thats how I train always, on the battles.

Now that's a good idea. I'll have to remember it.
