edit mod?  You mean the module system?  That is what is said above.  Unfortunately, you cannot change it during the game play....  yet.  No operation is made for that to date.

It is also possible using .txt files, if you're not a modder, using the troop editor as someone said earlier, or by doing it yourself, in troops.txt, look for the name of the lord you want to edit.

If you're doing a mod, im sorry, but if you can't figure this yourself, you will have a hard time doing a mod.

No, by edit mode, i mean mount and blade's edit mode (Window where you choose mod, Configure then Advanced, Enable edit mode (this may cause....)) then you enter Mount and blade (any mod) build your caracter while ingame press "C" and press in the upper left corner "next" or "back" to change to other caracters and when you find the lords, change their name (i think that would work)

Nope, this isn't permanent, if you close the window and reopen it, it's back to default.
