How do you marry a lord?

My female character has a noble background and everything but when I ask the Lords non of them seem interested in marrying my character or marrying her to one of their sons. I got to about 200 renown and went to a feast wearing a dress (which was funny because one of the other Ladies was wearing some boots and NOTHING else). Finally one of the Lords seemed to consider marriage but none of the others would.

I am just curious what are the factors for determining if the Lord will marry a female character? Renown? Does being in a dress make him see you as more feminine? Honor? Learning those stupid poems?

This is bothering me also as i have to either marry someone or defeat a castle solo to get fiefdom with my female character, you can't just swear to a lord.

Yeah I know the middle ages suck for women but I do like it. It seemed pretty accurate in a way...and then King Haralus asked me...a woman he just met leading an army of swadian recruits to go collect taxes from Praven...and then credibility died a little.

Moving on though, I would like an answer to this question. Even speculation is fine at this point.

Is that so?. Well, i must say i like it. Chosing gender goes beyond mere aesthetic and becomes a tactical decision making gameplay different.

I have never played female character in M&B before, but i might do it now.

I actually enjoy the difference.  I find it more realistic and true to the environment's time period.  So it's harder to be a woman.

As for a response to Seekster's actual question: Interesting that one of the lords considered it after your character put on a dress... I think you're on the right track with the dress and the renown bit.  I also think you have to be friends.  Also, I don't think it would hurt if he happens to say he's an admirer. Although, I've had several lords confess that they admire my character and then spurn her... talk about mixed signals.

I appreciate the help ark but today while playing a new game I asked a guy from the Rhodoks to marry me and he said he would consider it. I had just met the guy and I wasnt wearing a dress so I am a bit stumped. I highly doubt the dress is a factor because of the coding it would take to have the ai recognize that the player is wearing a dress. Also the lord just keeps saying he will consider it if I ask again. I am going to try to raise my friendship with him and see what happens. But right now I dont really have much evidence to support any method.

Anyone else have some theories or insight?

Also I am starting to think the Lords that have a problem with a woman warrior is random with each new game. Though I will admit some of the responses are funny.
