There are no formal rules about that (AFAIK), but it should be quite obvious.
For small offenses you'll receive warnings, only sheer stupidity can lead to a permanent ban.

but there are a variety of ways to get banned.

I got a small infraction for spamming or something when I first started.

Just generally you get banned for being a prick.

It doesn't help to get on the wrong side of archonsod either.

Each board has it's own specific rules too.

No piracy, talk of piracy or any of that either, and no duplicate accounts to get around a mute etc.

actually i think you can make two accounts. You just can't make a new one to avoid suspension.

My understanding is that if you have two accounts, one will be shut down, most likely. If you have two and one is banned/muted or whatever, they both get banhammered.

It's basically a chatroom hosted on a server and anyone who knows about it can join (there's also random joins on several IRC clients).
