How do the skills work in your party?

Long time lurker, first time poster.  So here goes....

I'm curious how the skills work in the game when you have your companions skills as well.  I'll describe 3 skill types, and I'm wondering which skills correspond.

Skill Type 1

When you perform an action like Skill 1, it only counts what YOU have for that skill.  Even if Jeremus has a high skill, it doesn't matter.  It's just yours.

Skill Type 2

When you perform an action that takes Skill 2, it takes the combined score of everyone.  So if you have a skill of 2 and Jeremus has a skill of 3, it counts it as 5 skill points in that skill.

Skill Type 3

The party member with the highest skill level applies this one.  So if you have a skill level of 3, and Jeremus is 5, it counts his 5, but not your 3.

Well... your type 1 is a leadership skill like leadership

The closest to your type 2 would be trainer, everyone's skill counts but they don't add up quite the way you describe: each bonus is added separately, not as if one person had the total sum of the skill.

Type 3 is the majority of skills but again, it's a little different than you described: the hero (or you) with the highest skill level is the only one who counts but your skill can add to the effective highest level.  So, in your example, Jeremus has 3 skill and you have 2 skill. Jeremus's skill is the one that counts but your 2 skill gives him a 1 point bonus. This only works for the PC; your 2 gives 1pt, your 5 gives 2pts, your 8 gives 3pts and your 10 gives 4pts.  When you look at the party screen, you will see it like: Jeremus, surgery 3(+1)

All personal skills apply only to the character who has the skill (eg Power Draw), Leader skills only work if your character has them (eg. Inventory Management)

None of the skills are cumulative in that way

The party member with the highest skill level applies this one.  So if you have a skill level of 3, and Jeremus is 5, it counts his 5, but not your 3.

All party skills do this - trade, surgery etc. If you also have the skill you will grant (or gain) a bonus to the party total.
