I'm playing the native version of the game and im fighting as a lord of the nords. We have taken all the cities of one other kingdom and destroyed all their armys but it still says we are at war? i ask a noble how goes the war and he says we have 15 armys against their none...can we win a war and totally destroy a facton? or is this it?

you have to capture all of their fiefs PLUS all of their lords. then it should be done.

I fixed your post... you don't need to capture them... just defeat them. As long as they don't hold any lands, when defeated they vanish for a time then return later to join an existing faction.

and caravans too...I once had a damn vaegir caravan stuck on a corner of a map after I defeated all their lords....had to finally cheat to find it.

I didn't need to defeat the caravans when I captured Rhodoks, Vaegir and Swadian kingdoms..

I also didn't need to defeat one of the kingdoms caravans. I'm not sure that's what did it... though I don't recall if I had seen any caravans after bringing down their last city either. It could be possible that while you fought and defeated the caravan the Lord who was left was defeated elsewhere.

I'm not so sure either way... but I do know that Lords don't need to be captured.

There's also a possibility that one of the quests from a Guild Master in one of the citys will require you to bribe the generals of the armys of the opposing factions in hope to gain peace. This works 50% of the time for me.

Maybe there wasn't any caravan left..

In 1.011 you don't have to capture all the lords and you also don't have to release the prisoned ones.
Checked that yesterday, when i finished off the swadians with my rhodok spearmen

To specify on the caravans:
To win a war the enemy must have no active units, these include caravans and peasants. As these disband when they reach their goal it is not necessary do hunt them down. Other forum members reported that sometimes a caravan got chased a far way off by bandits so they had to hunt it down. Therefore it was mentioned by KnightMare123.

Eliminate all off their parties (Caravans, Peasants, Lord's parties, etc) and capture all off their footholds (Castles, Villages, Cities...)

Stay away from the armed forces, because we don't usually have a victory message pop up out of no where when we successfully invade a country .
