I keep running into problems when saving a map I edit. I click the "save" button after pushing ctrl+e and exit. Then go to the same map again that I saved, and it's back into a blank map.
So, my question is: Can someone confirm that I've set everything up right?

1. Go to M&B directiory->Modules->Native
2. Copy Native folder, and paste
3. Rename the Native- Copy folder "Native Edit"...or something of this sort
4. Go into Native Edit->SceneObj
5. Delete all the .sco files within the SceneObj folder
6. Open up configure page
7. Enable edit mode, and windowed mode
8. Start up Native Edit
9. Go to multiplayer-> host a game
10. Push ctrl+e
11. Edit and add what ever to your liking...
12. When done editing push ctrl+e and save the map

So, am I missing something?, is there a download I'm supposed to have? Is there acceptions or weird rules to this?
I would really love it if someone could help me out here :wink:

There are a few things here that are confusing me.

4. Go into Native Edit->SceneObj
5. Delete all the .sco files within the SceneObj folder

I don't think you should have to do this. In fact this should probably break all your scenes if you do.

9. Go to multiplayer-> host a game

I'm not sure you can edit maps in a MP situation. Try loading the scene in singleplayer (you might have to learn some programming if you haven't so that you can jump to it)

You should also check the permissions on your SceneObj folder and make sure you're an administrator account in Windows. It might not be getting permission to overwrite the file with your changes.

i deleted all the sco. files because i wanted to start out with a completely blank canvas (map)

but ok! i thank you so much, i think its the permission thing! you are great help! :smile:

ahh ok, would someone mind making a step by step (as i did in my post) to show the proper way. or post a similar forum topic?

How could i check the settings on this?

How do you Edid Maps in the first Place?
i  can only edit Weapons and armor.
I one tricked the game into thinking Quarter Staf was a Horse.

But how do you edit maps and such?.

no no no, not the single player maps. (even tho that is very cool)
i'm talking about multiplayer maps (like that ATS has)
and such as this...is there a guide on that?

If you don't mind overwriting one of the multiplayer maps, do this:

1: Go to your mod folder.
2: Delete the .sco file for the scene you want to modify.
3: Run Warband. Make sure you have the "enable cheats" and "enable edit mode" options checked in the configure menu.
4: Start a SINGLEPLAYER game. Get through the beginning to the world map.
5: Click on the "Terrain" nutton in the lower lefthand corner.
6: Play with the map editor until you get what you want, then press the "copy" button at the top.
7: Open your module_scenes.py and find one of the multiplayer entries like this:

  ("multi_scene_1",sf_generate,"none", "none", (0,0),(100,100),-100,"0x00000001300389800003a4ea000058340000637a0000399b",
    [],[],"outer_terrain_plain"),

8: Highlight the area in red and press ctrl+v to paste in the code you copied from your map. Save.
9. Run module.bat and enter the game - the map you altered will be ready to play.  :mrgreen:

Oh, God...
It's called a SCENE, damn it!

*Sorry for this... I just couldn't stop myself. Sorry again.*

For simple map edits.

This is what I tend to do. Why? Because it's easier for me.

I take a scene I want to work on. I rename it after the tutorial maps. I then go into the tutorial work on the map and after I am done I take it back into game. (I had to do it this way because the scene editor mod and my own have conflicts due to menu differences) It's worked for me thus far.

You can pretty much do this for towns as well. Like set the first town up as the map you edit and go in and modify it.
Hell you just gave me an idea for a tool mod.
