I am assuming the only ways to gain influence is to either vote on an issue or do quests for certain people? Is this correct? I am losing two influence per turn simply because I abstained from voting. I would have voted however I had no influence for the votes lmao. Can someone help me please I am trying to get some castles and cities!

Influence is if you are a mercenary (where the influence is turned into cash) or a vassal where it can be spent on kingdom decisions, or your own ruler, also kingdom decisions, it can be acquired with perks (which are broken, from my experience under the steward tree), and winning battles. I forget, but I don't think quests provide any kind of influence.

There is a charisma skill that gives you +1 influence if you're a ruler. Of course it happens first in the skill tree when you're not even a ruler, so most probably didn't take it. It should be place further back in the tree.

For me, influence was broken. My entire playthrough was canned when I conquered a castle, and formed an independent kingdom only to get ZERO influence in my pool. I earned lots of it... but my counter stayed at zero and never goes up. I'm told its a bug, and you may have it too...

Dang... yeah I didn’t grab any of the steward perks thinking I wouldn’t need them until later on. That’s unfortunate cause I don’t really know how I can have a castle or city of my own if I can’t gain influence.

You can get a decent amount with battles, also joining an army gives you a passive bonus while you are a part of it.

That skill works from the beginning. It is for Clan leader, not for faction leader.

Hot damn, I'll have to try that. I always assumed I needed my own kingdom to gain any influence form it. If that's the case, thanks. I know another one says vassal +1. What happens if I leave a faction I was a vassal of? do I lose that perk? Or am I reading it wrong entirely?

Yea you got that correctly. You only get +1 while you are vassal of a faction.
If you leave you dont get the +1, but you can join again as vassal to get it again. Not sure if it also affects you as a mercenary though.

Donating troops to a garrison gives you influence. Higher level troops obviously give more. Winning large battles also gives you a good amount of influence, so what I did was start by donating troops until I had enough to call a few lords to an army, and then lead them into battles against enemy armies and castles. Soon enough I was rewarded with my first fief, and since our kingdom has the council of commons policy on it generates passive influence for me every day now.

Donating prisoners to dungeons works as well, you can do it with the unrecruitable tier 5/6 troops unless you want to save them for a later patch.

Happening to me either. Stuck at 0 influence. However at battle review it says "u recieved x influence" it doesnt change at all. It is a bug right? So dont know if i should report it. Didnt see any fix on this in any of the recent patch notes.

I've never gotten that perk to work, nor the +1 influence as a vassal either...neither of them work, has anyone else got these to work?

If you are a faction leader you can easily get influence with council of commons and sacred majesty policy. Got a ton of influence everyday~
