How can you decrease the size of lord's parties/armies?

I was playing Viking Conquest when I realised I wanted the lords' armies to be much smaller (maybe 50-60) so that it would be more similar to Vikings the TV show. Is there any file I can edit or something I can mod to nearly half the size of enemy lords' parties? Decreasing garrisons would be nice too.

I just want to know if it's possible to do and how I'd go about doing it, but I'm not willing to spend hours learning how to mod the game to see if I can eventually figure out how to do it. It's not worth that much of my time for a playthrough I'll spend less than 20 hours on.

then the answer is nope. You will need to change a few things to balance the game, which you can't find in a one step tutorial or learn in 30 minutes. Like balancing the garrison, mission templates, reinforcement waves, the bandits, the sieges, the AI, skills, player army size, economy, ...

lords? All dead, as bandits are killing them off easily (forgot to balance that)
lords respawn with super troops all the time? Well economy is broken, so they have tons of coins to spare
wars don't go anywhere? Well lords die before they can get near a castle to siege, so no chance to conquer anything
villages all burned out? Bandits are lose and raiding villages at will
player tried to conquer a town? Good luck when you have 50 troops, and the town 600
and so on

Do I know how to change balance and armies size? Yes.

To teach someone how to do it one would first need to check tutorials (how to get and use modsys, etc). You said you don't want to do that.

Or you can visit the Tweaks thread and ask for a .txt edit, which someone may be kind enough to post for you. Both options can be explored on the modding section. A .txt edit doesn't require modding know-how on the player side to apply, just Notepad and change some magic numbers around.

Just for curiosity, woulnd it be a bit time consuming but super easy giving low charisma and 0 leadership to all lords? that would severely limit armies at least by 3/4 or perhaps half no? without altering much everything else.

It would make the map more static but at least it is a nice experiment, just wondering

You can try different things, like a quick script change (couple lines of code) for the basic change. That part is easy as explained above. The rest is where things get interesting.
