How can faction leaders have armies with 900+ men while I can only have 300-400?

I now have +2000 renown, my own kingdom and with owned 3 castles my army can take up to 400 soldiers. Of course, these numbers always fluctuates due to the steady (pain-in-the-ass) loss of renown which occurs even more noticeable at high renown values.

What I find kinda annoying are other faction leaders who roam the lands with 900 or more soldiers but only with 1200-1300 renown and less or no more castles than I have.

Don't get me wrong, I have no problem wiping out such an army with 200-300 troops but the fact other faction leaders aren't actually "better" than I am makes the game for me somewhat unbalanced. How can they raise such armies when the same rules (e.g. one additional soldier for each 25 renown) which apply for me also apply for them?

Besides the fact that native has a similar set up, it seems that the reinforcements are bumping them up above what they should have. Not sure why its occuring though.

As far as i am aware the kings should have around 100-200 troops more than what the player can achieve.

I've seen Harlus walking around with over 1,200 troops before, so the mechanic is in there to bump them up that high.  *shrug*

When assigning the reinforcements, I made a mistake with the numbers. That's why there are such large ai parties and huge stacks in the castles. I'll do better next version .
