How bad is it to have terrible honor rating?

I am wondering if honor is something I should even worry about if I don't care if people will join my faction. War will be declared on my faction, no doubt. I will have 0 right to rule, so how bad could negative honor be at this point?

I don't plan to marry, so I don't need it for that.

I suspect that most lords will have negative relationship with me because I will take them prisoner and attack them on the field many times.

Aside from lords hating me, and possible some factions declaring more war than usual (not really a problem since I have 0 right to rule), what else does negative honor do to harm me?

TL;DR
Please list ALL the effects of having negative honor.

As near as I can tell the only real drawbacks (once your wife/husband is out of the way)is the relations with other lords.

You might not be selected as marshal, though even without any relations with lords you can if your renown is high enough so maybe you still will? Expect more attacks when you enter towns and the odd assassin in the bar. Other than that I never noticed any real drawbacks to it when I did my bandit lord thing (basically pillaged my way across the map being at war with every kingdom) other than the ones you say you don't care about and when I did decide to take a town to call home I had the odd attacks and some assassins in the bar.

Thanks!

Honestly, assassins would just be free extra experience and money, so I welcome that lmao. I will likely abandon my honor in favor of more winning strategies.

The random bandits when you try to enter a town are definitely free money. They're easy to beat without taking damage if you have decent equipment.

I dont remember getting anything for the assassin.

Then again the first few times I saw them it kinda threw me through a loop. First time because I had never seen it before, after that because I wasn't paying attention and thought I was hiring mercs

LOL! I'll be sure to keep my eye out, then. Even if they drop nothing, they are sure to give some experience, right? I guess I will just find out. I don't mind fighting them off, anyway.

They're like the belligerent drunk.  I don't know about the experience part, but you get a weapon (a Nordic Sword) and a little gold for your troubles if you fight off an assassin.  I've gotten them even as a high honor person (it happens when someone who reeeeeally hates you wants you dead...something like -20 to -30 or so relation with them).

And, yeah, it threw me into a loop as well when I first saw it.  It was basically "Oh, who's this guy?  Another drunk?  ....wait...why does it say 'Hired Assassin' for hi--OH S***!  HE'S ATTACKING ME!!!!!!"  Yeah, I still killed him, but it happened randomly to me without realizing what was going on.

Since then, I've been scanning taverns to make sure that I'm not caught off-guard by either a drunk or an assassin because...well...it sucks not being prepared (they're not hard to fight off, just annoying).

It'll recap things telling you that you were knocked out from your scuffle, but the bartender managed to man up/woman up and wrestle him away or some such before he got the chance to deliver the finishing blow and runs away because of it, IIRC.

Btw, I only know of that since I did it once to see what happens.  It's also been a while, so I can't remember all of the details that well.

LOL ya I've definitely run into an assassin once, but only once, so I didn't know how it works and even forgot about it. This is good information.

I've long since started drawing my weapon when I walk into a tavern. May as well be safe  Oh and a funny thing with belligerent drunks is if you ready a vertical swing and then let them talk to you, you unleash the swing while the dialogue is there. You get a close-up zoom on their face as your character smashes it. I think you can do it with a readied arrow or bolt. He can't draw his weapon this way, though, so you lose 1 rep with the tavern keeper. I wonder if you can do the "do you know who I am" dialogue to prevent a fight after you've killed them lmao. I should test this...

I always wondered how there's always like a Hired blade or a Swordsman for hire, and when the belligerent drunk draws his sword, they all run like "I'm outta here lol".
