I find your lack of links to the hotfix disturbing...

But in all seriousness it is annoying to constantly have to retype everything I say in local and faction chat just because they won't work.

So a link would be appreciated seeing as one I found in an old topic doesn't work.

Here is the local fix:

Here is 3.1 with faction chat removed, which makes module_presentations, script_game_receive_network_message, and the network event part of header_common identical to version 2, exactly. These are the only areas of the module system changed to add the chat message features. Tell me if it "works 100%" or not.

Works fine for me and others, but some people don't seem to have it work.

It doesn't actually do anything Nobody.

For the umpteenth time, that "chat fix" does nothing; but feel free to waste everyone's time if you really have to. To other players, I have verified that the changes in the patch do not fix the problem; and I should be most likely to know, having written pretty much all of the code involved (though the original versions were posted on the forums by other people, I had written that sort of feature before, so modified it accordingly). The other coders who have added chat message features have come to similar conclusions, as far as I am aware. I have reported the problem on the bug tracker, but there has been no reply yet.

I removed all links and the download, since some people were persisting in believing the urban myth that it actually fixed anything; when I have proved to my complete satisfaction that the removal of faction chat has nothing to do with the problem - eventually I managed to reproduce it (partially) and fix a small bug that may have been contributing to it, as well as implement a workaround based on storing the last sent message and resending until confirmation, while hopefully never spamming duplicate messages. The proper fix will have to wait until taleworlds add a feature to the module system or possibly fix it in the code. The next small update will be released when Laszlo is ready.

I hate this stupid new forum posting system - it seems to corrupt my post with all sorts of junk, and it's only started happening fairly recently... don't have time to muck with it now.
