Hosting a NON dedicated server.

Hi.

I'm wondering why no one can see any servers i create from the ingame multi menu (and yes - the tick box to allow the server to be seen on the master list is checked).

This is so frustrating, i've been at it for hours to no avail.

Please help - it makes no sense at all - i've tried all sorts of arcane methods (reading over the dedicated server thread, port forwarding etc).

Is this problem only affecting me and you guys have no difficulty hosting joinable non dedicated servers and this is why no one is able to offer comments?

are you trying to have your friend join your server, or anyone who wants to?

if your just opening it up as a free for all, people dont usually join empty or low population servers.

It's for friends - it's a conscious determined and lengthy effort by all parties to join. . .

Like. . . interrijent peepol. . .

Doesn't matter who hosts or who attempts to join.

The host runs around in his room on zero ping (as expected). And his mates in real time third party voice communication are saying - "can't see it man", "try lan search", "nope", "how about now", "no", "now", "no" "filter", no" "firewall", "no", "open ALL ports just to isolate the issue", "can't see it", "ask someone in game", "completely ignored or offered only pitiful casual noobish commentry", "how retarded is this - how freaking beta does it still feel?", "yea. ."

you shouldn't have any issues if you throw a tick in the box that says "add to official game server list".  open ports 7240-7245, both tcp and udp.

Only UDP.

I suggest you just set up a dedicated server, they work fine.

Yeah, I think you can run the dedicated server client and then play with your normal client on it just fine. On the same PC.
