Hi, again , i want to know why my horse after some battle he dont run anymore, he walk, can i do something with the horse for run again?

Arturo.

Hi again.
Your horse was most likely crippled during one of your previous battles. In the current version this is permanent. Every time your horse "dies" (loses all its health and bucks you off) during a battle, there is a chance that it will be crippled. You will just have to buy a new one.

it really sucks when your horse gets crippled. Once i saved up around 1000 for a horse in the very beggining...and then the first battle it was crippled. That was freaking horrible....when your level 2 its so hard to get 1000 denars...haha

I've managed to heal some of my horses. You need to have 'wound treatment' skill, the higher the better, just keep the horse in your inventory and it'll heal. I find this quite useful because looted horses are usually lame, so I heal them and sell them for a good price, also a horse is always useful as it speeds up the party.

Yep, horses can indeed be healed. However, if it was a 'special' horse (spirited, heavy, etc.), it'll be a plain horse after healing. Interestingly, you can 'upgrade' swaybacked horses to normal horses this way, too.

Corinthian, you mentioned in your sig 'horses as companions'. That... is not a bad idea at all. A horse that WON'T get crippled, might get better in time, etc. (Pathfinding skill? One could hope...). And that has a name and such. Can equip it with barding, *POSSIBLY* a leveling up system, etc.

Would be nice for us mounted fanatics.

In other news. Bought a spirited warhorse. The SECOND (not first, at least) fight it was in... crippled. *sigh*. It was NOT cheap and it was NOT easy to find!

My horses generally don't get crippled often -- if I feel it's low on health (I don't often get cut down from mine) I'll go and borrow another.

Load saved game.

That isnt always possible i always find it more interesting usual the realistic saving feature because it makes the game much more challenging aswell, If you get wiped and lose your 20 man party you cant just turn back time and pretend it didnt happen! have to admit more games should have this feature

I'm with you on that, but that instance was pretty unique in several respects. A knight from left field charged me with a lance for 100+ damage, horse went down first hit in the fight, I was like ..    *chop* *chop*

Well... yeah, it takes quite a while. With WT 3, it took 16 days before my first crippled horse got back on its feet. (The last 3 of those was spent in a tavern to try to get my six crippled horses back up on their feet, 3 did.).

It looses any special abilities then, though. Also in .808. So it's sort of not that well spent time.

Ive noticed that being able to heal horses that it has worked for me a few times.. but i heard that you can also do it with swaybacked or even stubborn horses.. but i havent had any luck with that.. and out of the 5 lame horses ive had only 2 have ever gotten back to normal and i havent exactly noticed how long it took.. but i know its up there at around 10 days at the least and that with WT 3! Thought id throw in my 2 cents

Yeah, personally I think that healing the horses is a waste of time, unless it cost a lot, then just keep it in your inventory and buy another.

with Wound Heal 3 i healed my lame Courser in about 25 minutes real time, i just move it to my inventory and use it to boast my speed when im hauling trade goods.

I think 25 minutes is a bit long  :???: of course this goes down when you level up wound treatment, but i wouldnt mind there being another option, like say for 50 or 100 denari you can get a vet to 'fix' your horse, back to its ORIGINAL class, instead of normal, i guess you could charge more for the more expensive horses, but make it alot cheaper then having to buy a new horse of course

I like the long healing time, but then, as you'll see from my other posts, I'm in favor of big, bad consequences should you do something stupid.

The only time I heal my horses is in tLD, where I'll buy warhorses and keep rotating them in my inventory, since running back to town can take too much time.  Besides, after I can afford that many warhorses, its unlikely that I need the money from loot anyway.

It's a good way to get a basic version of an expensive horse on the cheap.  Buy it lame for a fraction of the cost and let it heal.
