Horses on loot screen?

Did you copy and paste his post? I tried copy and pasting the second post and got 0 loot. So I reverted back to my unchanged file and manually erased his red area and changed the first number and it worked. There was probably a typo in his second part that makes copy/paste not work. At least for me.

When I copy and paste it I don't get loot or notifications.

When I manually remove the text, the game crashes on startup.

Back to the drawing board.

Most likely because they wanted to have people purchase horses rather than loot them and never consider the horse trader again.

If you're going to post in a (relatively short - only 3 page long) thread, at least READ the thread.  It's not really that difficult and you'd be surprised at how much actual info you would get that could improve your game playing, from actual READING. 

The same exact question was asked (and answered) just up a few posts on THIS same page of this thread.  And yes, I might be going overboard with my reply to you, and I could have so easily just simply answered your question, but as the old saying goes -  "Give a man a fish and he eats for a day, teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime".

I heard someone getting a Masterwork Bow from a bunch of Desert Bandits.

I got a Masterwork Shortbow from forest bandits and I've gotten a few lordly items so far from fighting other lords. Only boots and gloves though, no armor.

I got a mastwork bow from dessert bandits as well. Ive had quite a few good items but then i relise ive also played the game non stop and thus played for ages and the amount of good items to junk i got in comparison is very bad ratio. But money is so abundent anyway, still it is nice to "win" good items sometimes. Feels better then buying them.

Boy this is one hijacked thread!

    I used to get horses all the time in Mount and Blade loot but noticed right away that that stopped in Warband.  Hope that tweak posted earlier makes its way into TweakMB.  Guess I'll have to try and find where it occurs in the module_scripts file of the module system.  Seems kind of wierd that you have all these horses running around and your party can't snag any.

FYI - the Scripts file is larger in this latest patch, and the section to be edited out to allow horses to be re-added to the loot list is not the same anymore.  I won't fake like I know enough about coding to comment on what that means, but I left it alone this time and didn't change anything until I hear otherwise

What it means is they added the horses back in as loot so no need to mod it yourself anymore.
I can confirm this from the beta patch, was getting horses as loot

Horses should be in loot, but I'd like to see changes in looting as well.
A checkbox, or multiple, to tell your men they can have all the *armor/weapons/horses* you find.
Or that you only want loot worth a minimum of x. Something like that.

Or an option that you don't keep loot, but instead give it to your army, making them gain more xp.


When killing <20 bandits on level 30, the loot means nothing most of the time, so why bother?

I noticed horses disappeared too, but it's no biggie, just buy them.

TIP:  If you buy lame horses and have first aid skill they will go back to regular if you keep them in your inventory.  (I buy lame hunters and keep them in inventory)

I confirm : horses are back. With the 1.123 version, when I fight kerghits medium armies (~100) I always get 3 or 4 horses (with looting skill to 6). As the rest of the equipement, they often are "lame" horses, but I happened to find a "spirited" courser.

What you do to horses on the battlefield has no effect on the state of horses in loot. Keep killing them if you want.
