Horses on loot screen?

Did you noticed that horses disappeared from after battle loot screen? I am level 26 but did not see single horse on loot screen.

I used to play M&B just with equipment I was able to scavenge from dead/captured enemies (sort of self imposed challenge). In Warband it seems I can obtain horses only by purchase.

I havent had a great amount of loot skil in warband yet, 6 i think, but the battle loot ive been getting kinda sux.

In the Original you could bag a warhorse or platemail armour from time to time but im getting hardly anything from any faction regardless of units.

I've found a couple of masterwork bows, and I turned up a reinforced helmet, but it was all from bandits. Seems theres something wrong with loot from factions.

Best chance to get something better is from high rank deserters. I get all sorts of stuff from loot, just like in M&B. Some rare item from time to time. But not a single horse yet.

Maximum loot skill I ever had was 4. Problem is that in later parts of game you tend to have larger party and since loot is split between party members it might seem poorer and poorer. But horses are totally absent.

I belive there were some people talking about loot skill not working, dunno if theres anything to that but...

That's exactly the way I play as well! Makes it more exciting when you beat a band of swadian men at arms and see a lordly great helm (or any great helm!) in the loot - it's not just something else to sell. And yes, I've noticed the lack of horses in loot as well. I'm hoping it's either a bug which will be fixed soon, or something I'll be able to fix by modding when the module system is released.

There's always been a long-running discussion whether the Loot skill even applied to 'battle' loot in the original M&B.  Is there any posted evidence from the developers that it IS suppose to work for battle loot in WB?  (And I too really miss getting horses as loot (and I miss having storage chests in Castles/Cities - now one MUST marry to get extra storage).)

As far as the looting skill goes, I can say for certain it worked in the original game from my experiences. For Warband I am pretty sure it does work but it definitely seems to be giving different results. I seem to get alot more masterwork/high quality items than in the first game but I have never once found any horses after any battles. I also have noticed different loots coming from the different types of bandits running around except for the deserters and sea raiders; they seem to all give you the same loots after battles as the original game.

I tried some battles against deserters, bandits and faction armies with looting skill at 15 (tweaked). And I can say that loot was same as with skill at 5 or so.

"Increases the amount of loot obtained by 10% per skill level.

Looting also increases the quality of the loot. For example, at level 1 looting you will find mostly rusty, broken and cracked prefixes, negative ones. If your looting is 10, you will find many masterwork, balanced, reinforced and tempered items, more positive prefixes. This skill works in village looting, and in any other battle or siege. "

Edit: At OP, it's true horses seem to be completely absent from the loot screen in Warband.

I have yet to get any horses from battle loot myself (around lvl 25, fought every faction and bandit type except nord and rhodok so far), but I have gotten a couple of masterwork hunting bows (which are really pretty nice for companions since there is no power draw requirement) and a few tempered items.

yep horses are absent for me so far. but that's okay since i like to buy lame horses for my companions and let them heal to save denars anyway

You can't loot horses, unfortunately. I've had to buy every single horse in my party so far.

I play the scavenger way, too, for the same reason. I love doing that, it was great to try in Prophecy of Pendor with your exported character, gradually knocking out a few pests with your fists and taking a club or anything that can block so you can claw your way up into better gear and acquire a shield.

As far as I know, there are storage chests in castles and towns. I'm the lord of Dhirim in my game and there's a storage chest there.

chests only work if you own that fief. and for that matter, once you lose that given castle/town, you cannot access that specific chest until you win it back. if youre looking for a chest to store items but you don't want to conquer a castle/town yet, there's one in Rivacheg that stores the Strange items.

Then there's something definitely odd going on in my game (1.105 patch).  I only own Wercheg (plus 3 villages).  Wercheg was given to me, without my asking for it, by my King when we took it.  It's been several game months since that time and I've since gotten married. There is a chest against the wall behind where my wife stands, but there is NO interaction available with it.  Nothing shows up.

You've mentioned seeing the chests, are they interactable?

If you're married, ask your wife, there's the option to store items
