Horse Insta-Stop: Still Exists?

In the beta, they introduced a feature that allowed you to instantly stop your horse by making it rear up. I can't for the life of me remember what key combo was needed and I have no idea if this hasn't been patched out.

So does this still exist? If so, how do you do it?

In beta this was used in jousting duels to signal that one is ready to start.

I never found a use for it until I started playing the musket mod, where its usefull for stopping as a dragoon faster to fire more accurately.

I want to know the actaul reason...the tatical/strategic point of it and not cos it looks cool.
