Hello I have searched and not found what I was looking for.

What does the attribute Charge do for horses? And what is it's relation to speed?

Would a horse with 34 charge 34 speed be a good horse?

thx

I think it's how easily a horse can plough through a crowd of enemies.. A horse with a low charge would get stuck part way through and you'll be killed pretty quickly, well a horse with high charge will make its way through safely.

Allright, thanks for the quick reply. I always thought that it was the time it took to speed up the horse but I wasn't sure.  :)

It's both.. the higher the charge the more damage you inflict and more easily you cut through the enemy crowd(by crowd I mean the poor foot soldiers NOT cavalary)..
A Heavy Charger horse(never tried with a Charger but I guess it could work too) can ride through almost any number of foot opponents..

Charge mainly affects how much speed you lose when trampling infantry, but it also seems to affect how low your speed can be to be considered "charging." It seems to take longer to couch a lance, for example, when riding a courser than a charger, despite the much greater acceleration.

Also, if you "charge" any foot soldiers while you are on your horse and hit them, then it causes a low amount of damage. :)

Every now and then, I take a high-level character with Riding 10 and a heavy charger on a sea raider stomping run. Just hold your shield up against the lucky throwing axes and let your hooves do the talking.

Yeah, speed really makes a difference too, I've hit 34s with a Champion Hunter and 10 riding.

yes, speed add to damage.

But I think the best "swadian" steed at 10 riding would deal more damage then the other steeds.

As for "lowering lance fast" issue, I don't know... I almost always use the fastest steed I get, so I have not investigated the "lowering lance fast" thing.

I do this sometimes. Usually against kingdom parties, though. I call it 'Bowling for Nords.' Great fun.
