I recon to add to realism scale, that the horses have stamina, and can sorta choose to obay you or not. Say you just in a battle, and ur horse has been cut, after the battle, your just riding it around again.

i recon you should be able to give it rests on the map, like, make camp or something, for your horse to recooperate. Also, make the horse have stamina while your fighting.

if ur being chased around by 30 men or so, and ur just running, ur horse in reality aint gonna be able to run for eva. So you could make it like, the faster your horse runs, the faster its stamina drops.

(i could also recomend this for foot fighting too). If ur constantly attacking, ur gonna get tired, and if ur tired, ur not gonna be able to block as well. You could still block, but it wouldent be as successfull, and u would recieve less damage than what the attack would of been.

i know there is already a thread about stamina, and the response on stamina was
But i disagree with stamina, unless we're living in a different world, a person doesn't get tired after dealing 3 blows, and that all it usually takes to kill a man in M&B.

If my facts are correct, a large steel blade can be quite heavy.

What do you guys think?

Enhancing horses thread.. Lol its still on the same page and I mentioned exactly the same things. I'm not promoting it or anything, but just curious if u agree with my concept of stamina since it is literally the same suggestion..

Regarding to what laurence says, yes some people may enjoy the game which is simple, rather than a complex game where you control every aspect of one's existance, while some people may enjoy the opposite. I personally think however, that if we find a 'balance', (for example how fast your stamina drops) so that players don't have to concentrate on too many things/meters at the same time, yet the game is in depth. Furthermore, naturally horses would not really slow down when tired, but it is very possible to push a horse to its death. Player stamina would be nice as well, but I think that adding stamina to horses only would not only enhance gameplay, but would also make mounted combat slightly more difficult for players, so its a matter of having a mounted advantage over footmen, but working harder / spending more effort for it.

Maybe just add buttons to the options?
In RTW you have an option to have simplified battles. Why not add complex stuff and then let players who don't like it disable it?

This can be very good for issues that get 50-50 vote like horse-player hitboxes.

This will also ebd the fight between proponents of realism and proponents of balance.

I would like stamina in M&B if it had a larger scale, for example, if you could start a battle with 200 soldiers and set them into formations and command them around, then it would make sense tactically both for the horse and for the player but right now battles are pretty free-for-all small skirmishes and I wouldn't like to slash 10 enemies and from then on become tired and unable to do anything but attempt to defend myself and survive the battle while my army gets tired and dies.

I think your idea about the rest time is not bad, so instead of stamina decreasing during battle, I'd suggest some sort of battle-timer that will time how long the battle lasted and after the battle is over your horse and yourself and your army gets into the "tired" state and need the appropriate relative rest time before you are all up for another battle.

But a stamina meter during the battles, be it for you, your horse or your army, will just become seriously annoying for such small skirmishes, so if that's your idea of realism, then I agree there should be a On/Off option for in-battle stamina meters.
