I would like to see an Honor Point system that results in a Reputation value. Honor Points could be earned by joining into a battle that is ongoing .. and being 'thanked' for helping defeat those bastards ... you could also earn points for completeing quests .. or completeing quests and turning down the gold reward (which is often an insult amount anyway) ...
points could be lost for leaving a battle that others were depending on you for aid or running out of food for a significant period of time ... or taking the spice quest (9 units) and selling it instead of delivering it for a 1000 gold payoff
reputation could be granted to the player when he levels .. or when he levels on certain numbers ( five, ten, fifteen .. etc) ... point values would be balanced so that it doesn't get too inflated .. maybe 10 or 100 being the goal for the entire game.
reputation would grant the player .. possibly special quests for uber weapons .. possibly higher ranking recruits sitting in the tavern when you go looking (because they respect your ethics in battle .. etc) ... possibly another price break on trade ... maybe even your own stronghold where you could stash your gold and be granted credit to cover certain amounts while in the field.
anyhow .. these are just thoughts .. don't cut me out of your wills
.. I realize the game isn't fleshed out completely and some of this may be covered or .. irrelevant by that time.

another idea ... adding a benefit to higher leadership values for being able to "live off the land" to some extent .. to slow down food consumption for larger squads.
Just wanted to say ... i registered the game the other day ..
I've enjoyed this game more below level six than I have enjoyed other games I paid $50 for ... so keep up the good work
