Hmm, curious...

What exactly changed with the way the weapon swing system works?

I tried both setting but could not tell a diffence.

Thoughts on new blocking/parry system.

Should be able to change direction of block/parry after you first select it, makes feints a bit too deadly for me to use this system, though I'd like to, the shield system I already heard was going to be tied to shield skill, so I'll hold out my verdict on that for now.

:edit: Would really like to know the answer to this, how noone minds the bump.

Attack direction has been determined by moving your view around your enemy for some time now (before it was random). The new option controls attack direction with mouse movement, which finally gives the player total directional control!

An option to reverse the mouse control would be best - it's unintuitive enough on foot, but on horseback it's just wrong

It was not random, there were yellow arrows. Unless that's what you meant, but it was still not random. I have not tryed the new system quite yet.

You should be seeing more of those yellow arrows

In the previous system, the direction of your attack depended on your angle on the nearest opponent. If you had your opponent on the left when you initiated the attack, then you'd swing from the left.
Under the new system, the swing direction is dependent on how your moving the mouse. If you move the mouse down while holding attack you will perform an overhead swing (or thrust, depending on the weapon).

The new system takes some getting use to. I keep swinging from the wrong side and missing completely.

You misunderstand - my parenthetic statement refers to how attack direction worked before it became target based. First it was random, then related to target position (when the yellow direction arrows were introduced) and now we have the mouse movement option.

For me the new style didn't seem much different while fooling around in the training dungeon, but when I tried using it on horseback it completely baffled me and I wanted nothing to do with it.

On foot (I detest horses) I still haven't been able to notcie a difference in the two settings, but maybe that has comething to do with me swing into my attacks anyway.

To be honest, I dint noticed any change myself. But so far, Ive only played the training battles on this new version. Im waiting for the fix.
