i think we should be able to hit with the back of a weapon (when swinging back). it could be quite usefull and realistic in a mass slought.

You mean like bash someone with your hilt?

I wouldnt mind a option to switch the sword to its flat side to knock people out with , since its pretty anoying trying to get prisoners when you have to switch to some gay club that does 15 dmg.

AFAIK bashing the enemy in the face with the pommel of your sword was a regular finishing move, but I think it'd seem out-of-place unless grappling and throws are added, because it's not as if you'd do that just out of the blue. Your opponent would have to be in a vulnerable position first (Such as sprawled on the ground).

I can't decide. It would be a nice feature, but at the same time, I don't want another combat maneuver to perform unless it's really something cool. I only see this feure as marginally cool. Plus, I do see it as being stupid that you could simply always fight with the hilt of your weapon and still win. I'll refrain from voting at this time.

I guess I would be for it if you could only do it to an enemy who was already knocked down, but I still don't know how you would implement it without in involving a new button. Maybe just a miscellaneous button that we could choose to map ourselves? I would map it to mouse button 3, 4 or 5, I guess. Hey, I don't know if M&B supports button 4 or 5, I forgot I had those!

I think he meant when you use an axe or polearm, your slashes begin with a backward movement of the weapon handle, then you collide with your blade.
He wishes you deal damage even with this "large" swinging mode to foes behind you. IMO it's useless, it would deal 0 damage on most cases, and will force the game to check many more collisions at time weighting on CPU for a bunch of additional low damage hits...

As proposed? No. Even though the return-to-guard movement could be turned into a cut.

As for giving weapons the possibility of doing damage of a different type (say, blunt with a pierce weapon, pierce with a cut weapon, etc) with a secondary attack? HELL YES.

Sounds like an interesting and easily implementable feature, just being able to bash someone with the flat of your sword to knock them out.

I think that will enhance alot the use of the polearns specially. The enemy thinks that you will slash him from the right with your double sided lance, and you thrust him.
