I looked around the forums.
Can't seem to locate a history thread of each release.
I was curious as too what changes were made.
Is there such a thread or page?
Thanks

I am not aware of any history list, I think someone asked this before but none was ever made. This thread might also be better in Mount&Blade Discussion.
Welcome to the forums Ripbud!

I think this would be a great idea. I would also like to see maybe releases of the older versions just to see how it played when it first came out. But it would be only possible if someone had the old installer on their pc and armagan didn't mind them putting it up for download and looking through the memberlist thre really arn't many people from the begining which is a shame because it kinda a set back.

Thanks for the welcome.

Okay let me see. I can fix this thread...

Suggestion: When you release a new version can you put history of changes on the : Announcement: NEWS: (update-XXX) New version (.XXX) is out.

There go now it belongs here ;-P

By the way this game is a gold nugget - I wouldn't surprised if it got released on Steam. Keep up the great work - my wallet doesn't regret a dime on spent on this so called beta game

It's not selling out - it's distribution.

A lot of people hate steam (i'm not crazy about it) - However a lot of people have it and and Steam would give this game a mass distribution channel for M&B.

I heard about this game through a comment of Bluesnews - up til the other day - I'd never heard of it.

Anyway this game can get into people's hand is positive it's not selling out.

Any-who.

Awesome game - I'm addicted.

Everyone who has Steam has internet access. Everyone who has internet access does not have Steam.
Targetted advertising might help, although word of mouth seems to be doing a good job so far.

A more comprehensive change list would be nice.

Agreed - an anouncement of release with changes - it might even be nice is there were notes like:

"please test x y z"

Etc. After all it is a beta even though it plays so very well.

As for steam - I don't really care one way or another - my point was that this is a really great game and it should be main stream - I don't care how it gets there - I just hope this game gets the attention it deserves.

Enough about distribution for me... Let's talk about something else.

When Armagan releases a new version, he usually states what major changes were made in that thread. Not always, but usually.

I'll start taking that information and putting it in the announcement thread. If I forget, please remind me though. When new updates arrive the forums get pretty hectic.

Everyone who has Steam has internet access. Everyone who has internet access does not have Steam.

Everyone who plays games on a computer has internet access.

Seriously, who's going to spend the cash on a computer up to the specs required to play modern games (video card, extra memory, top end processor etc.) but not pay the relatively trivial monthly fee for internet access needed to download, patch, and even to play at all, most games these days? There might be some exceptions, but not enough to be significant. Steam is a good distribution channel, once the game is "done" enough it would definitely show off M&B to a lot of potential players who probably wouldn't have even heard of it otherwise.

You'd be surprised. I know a lot of people who either don't have internet access, or use a seperate machine for it. Plus many people are still using dial up rather than broadband.

There's also the fact that Armagan probably doesn't want Vavle taking a cut from his profits.

Targetted advertising would probably be more effective than Steam hosting. Aside from the fact that non-valve games appearing on Steam tend to get ripped apart in their forums, the question is how much appeal would M&B have for most Steam users?

To get back on topic

It's not the main changes or features that are usually missed out on. Its the minor tweaks or additions that usually get discovered over time that could do with documenting on the release. It saves on erroneous bug reports...

well, I got three computers, one has internet access, and thats a 7 kbit/s.

I live on the country, and we dont have access to any broadband internet connection yet. Which means that it takes 1h 30 minutes to download M&B 7.1

that sux, well only 1h left now....
