As suggested by our host, lets try to fill a thread with images more or less closely related to the French and Indian War.
Those could possibly be contemporary paintings or sketches, works be modern artists regarding that subject, battlefield photos or tactical maps or just anything anybody might find relevant to the topic
Let's start with everyone's favorite artist
On a related note, tons of Ganbat's amazing artwork can be found here and here
More directly related to the topic, and probably the best known painting of the FaIW, imaging the Death of General Wolfe in the decisive battle of the war.
Young George Washington as a Colonial officer, under his command the opening shots of the war were fired in 1755. Or more cynically, a minor local Indian chief dragged him and his detachment into the slaughter of some unsuspecting frenchman.
Ft. Necessity, were the French exacted their retribution a few days later and forced Washington to surrender the "fortress", now
and then (as visualized by Robert Griffing)
The first major British campaign in 1755 resulted in The Wounding of General Braddock and his subsequent death in the humiliating Britisch defeat on the Monongahela inflicted by a force less than half his strength consisting mainly of Indians allied with the French. Washington apparently was able to distinguish himself by achieving at least some semblence of orderly retreat during the general rout.
Braddock was on the way to assault Ft. Duquesne, which was later blown up by the French before a approaching British force could capture it. In its place the Brits build the much larger Ft. Pitt
Ft. Pitt was besieged during "Pontiacs Rebellion" and during negotiations the now infamous smallpox infested blankets were handed out to the Indians.
War Dance
The Highlanders and the Indians tended to get along relatively well, both being "Savages"
