While I'm serious about your suggestions being a great contribution, I hope that you read that as being tongue and cheek. As much as I like ordering people around... :smile:
 
is this basically an addon for floris, or something parallel which doesnt need floris modpack? It looks extremely interesting tbh.

Seriously though, I pulled on some fairly large strings in this tapestry so I am trying to make sure things work correctly prior to a public release as v0.14 is in okay shape.  Rest assured that we are getting there as the main work is done and now it is more of a balance & bug hunt task.  My hopes is to be done with v0.15 within a couple of weeks at most.
 
Ok i took the time to check this. It is an incredibly well done mod, i love the direction you took, it looks like a more focused/polished (and updated) version of floris modpack.

Kudos, i will follow this closely and report anything i'll find.

Hi Windyplains - I have verified this several times since posting.  I'm positive that it's not a mistaken F1.  It happens rarely, and only to groups that I do not place with F1.

Hmm...that's unfortunate.  I've either never encountered this or never noticed it, but as Caba isn't about to support PBOD any longer I'll have to take a look to see what may be causing it.  If you happen to see any common reasons it is occurring that could be quite useful.  Such as a terrain type, unit type (infantry / cavalry / archers - if it is the same one each time), do you have pre-battle orders set or not, were you in the deployment phase or did you just take the field / charge.

I have run into this a few times, it so far only has happened to me when using pre deployment orders when I do not place the group during the placement phase. I have only had it happen to Infantry and my Non-com group. (Always the last of the unnamed groups.)

In example: If I start a battle and just hit F to skip the deployment there is a good chance my infantry or non-coms will be randomly on the map. Sometimes in the center, most often than not they are on the other side of the enemy army.

Thinking on it more, its only happened rarely but the entire army was somewhere randomly on the field, set up like ordered but no where near me. But as a disclaimer, I always use tweakMB to set battle field size to max. Which is why I never brought it up, assumed it was from that.

Thank you.  That should help me recreate & narrow down the problem.
 
Oh, I remember! That was like 6 months ago...

It happened when I used the pre-battle orders to make my infantry advanced 60 feets (Twice 3x "Move forward"). It oftenly made them spawn right in the ennemy army, so I stopped doing it and did it during the battle instead.

Help me please.
A few thoughts...
1) Was that WSE log taken from the same run as that rgl_log?  WSE appears to have started up properly in that log, yet it very clearly is not running in the rgl_log shown.  My experience so far is that opcode 8 always means WSE has failed to run either because it wasn't started using the WSE loader or it shut itself down (trial version, corrupted game, etc).

2) Are you actually running Windows XP with 1GB of RAM or is your warband and/or steam application running in compatibility mode?  This won't resolve your opcode 8 issue, but if you have more than 1GB of RAM then the game isn't recognizing it and that would be the likely reason why.  It is good to see that Silverstag in cinematic mode is running under that threshold though.

Beyond that I am unsure why WSE would say it is running, yet clearly is not.  I have asked its creator for a little insight and I'll let you know what I can find out.

Okay, so here is part of the response I received:
In the rgl_log you pasted there are several mentions of "vdt_regular_ffp discard_buffer()", which is something that was added to a beta Warband build and is not present in the final 1.153. No version of WSE ever supported that beta.
It seems you've got a beta copy of 1.153.  Try downloading a fresh copy of 1.153 here and see if the problem persists.

I play on an old netbook in this mod, at work :smile: The first time I ran warband to check his work on a netbook. then a little play on minimum settings, all was well. introduced the key to the game. Then install the mod and started playing. I'll try to reinstall the game. Thank you for responding. Your mod is very great.
 
An odd bug: as i got windows8, now it happens that some metal things are transparent. Several helmets are but a shade of light gray, and i can see my bald head; and heraldic armors look half-transparent. The bug self-eliminates if i put to 0 antialiasing. Odd. I quickchecked the forum but no one reported something similar. It happens with native too.

I do remember seeing 1 other post about windows 8 having a issue. But I think it is more of a windows 8/warband issue and don't quite remember if any solution came from it.

Have you tried running in compatibility mode for vista/7? (I have not used windows 8 my self and have no clue if they still have compatibility check boxes)
 
the nissa quest as far as i know is bugged as follows:

enter Tulbuk -- speak with elder -- defend her honor -- wait few days - wait few days - wait few days
- message of elder is he has not yet convinced - wait few days -- nissa suggests we go there
--numerous times into the we might miss our chance zone -- town has option to defend her honor, start quest do not flee..

in the town the elder does not have anyone for you and repeats previous messages about not ready, can not exit town, save quit or alt f4 --- however elder and nissa only ones present ... she wont charge elder is under command, they hold position under orers of charge.

repeat repeat repeat... flee instead of defend... quest failed nissa is banished.

Hmm, how odd.  I had no problem with that quest, Rhaeloth. 

Are there any further details you could give him such as other pending quests, etc.?
