Pabst better than Coors and Bud? I think not (opinion of course). Now I'll admit that my taste buds have definitely become accustomed to the hops taste of the more popular products of the national breweries but pabst could not possibly compare to most of the other pilsner tasting beers.

hang out with sometimes some weird form of stylish hiphoppers. They are usually left wing/environmentalist and have ugly glasses. Many of the guys got funny beards and stuff and the girls have really weird artsy fartsy blogs.

I wouldn't say beatniks and hipsters are the same, beatniks were definitely a predecessor however. I can't imagine Jack Kerouac with a lumber jack shirt and red tinted glasses.

Beatniks were the originals. They were rebelling when there was actually something to rebel against. Today's hipsters are pure posers.

My city has a lot of indie/hipster folk. Personally I think they're great. Good music, good art, and they're nice people. The alternative to them would be wangsters who are just awful people, so the choice on who to hang with is pretty obvious. It's worth mentioning that I've never seen anyone dress like the people in these pictures. Scarves are strictly for the women, the men don't go any more outrageous than an old knit sweater or plaid shirt and skinny jeans.

Where I live, that's basically it. And I don't know any proper hipsters, but the people here are definitely closer to that than anything else. Of course, there are the awkward nerdy kids who are really nice and all, but just have different interests than me I guess.

Not to mention, skinny jeans are an easy way to get laid, so long as you're under 30.
