Well, it would be a bit late to be a beta tester (many people started much before, right?), but from now on I will post my opinions and bug reports about the game. I wanted to post my first impressions about the game. You know; first impressions are very important for gamers - if they didn't like the game at the start, they would give up playing. So:
The game is fun and addictive (in fact I'm level 11 or 12 now
) but no way perfect. The absence of magic and non-human creatures are not so important, since I think this is what makes this game unique - a realistic fantasy world. I will be a bit harsh about my criticism, since I think that would contribute more in the development.
The game seems VERY incomplete. It seems you are planning to publish it in a short time (there is a buy section mentioning that). While I enjoy the game, I wouldn't recommend it to a friend for purchase now. I appreciate your efforts but the fact that the game is developed by two people (or more?) is no excuse. Here are some obvious improvements that should be added to the game BEFORE it is released (most are obvious and I know you are aware of them):
- City squares of every city shares the same model, as the merchants and inns. There should be at least 4 different city models, two for the Vaegirs and two for the Swadians. Swadian and Vaegir cities may have a different architecture (medieval europe, greek, middle-eastern or a new creative design
). And each faction may have 2 types of city squares, one that seems more improved and one that is a bit less developed etc... And you should have a few different models for inns and merchants (may be easier to accomplish since they are small).
- Just Zendar have a tournament ground and just Zendar and Salt mine have slave-traders (that I know of...
). at least 2 more cities should have these. And different prisoner types may have slightly different trade values - stronger slaves should be sold at a higher profit.
- "Salt mine" and "the Four ways inn" should be filled with something interesting. You mentioned that you are designing the quests again in a post (so I don't mention about the incomplete quests
), these places may have "unique" quests that may be associated with the main scenario. All players may be able to get these quests whether Swadian or Vaegir. Also, as a trick you may give some quests level limitations to important quests, so that the players cannot finish the game at earlier levels. And since potential customers will be limited to level 6, they would want to buy the game to be able to play these missions to finish the game

There are more issues to be addressed but that is enough for now. I take notes while playing the game so I will post these issues from time to time. The suggestions above is mainly about the game content, which is very important. Would "Warcraft 3" or "Heroes of Might and Magic series" be as entertaining as they are if they have less creature types/ Hero types /City types ? Please pay attention to these issues.
As the last words, I thank you for providing us with the beta version of such an entertaining game. (in Turkish, the principle of: "Yiðidi öldür, hakkýný yeme."
