Grandmaster Knight
More style and roleplay elements for heroes

(I have seen there were some suggestions to heroes already but all the forum links are dead.)

I think it would be cool if the heroes' starting abilities would reflect better their story. In some cases I would give them a bit different clothes. It's all about fun and style nothing else.

Mostly I suggest leather boots instead of nomad boots.
Inventory management changed generally for more stylish skills.
Some of them had only a few skills compared to his/her level and/or to the others. I gave these heroes extra points.


Borcha
Agi 7->10, Int 12->9  He would be better pathfinder with Int 12 but agility suits better for a bandit.
Weapon skills: instead of 60 some differences: 2h and crossbow 40, the rest 70 because of his bandit background.
Looting 0->2 (bandit!)
Power draw 0->1 (some Khergit or steppe bandit influence)
Horse archery 0->1  (some Khergit or steppe bandit influence)
Inventory 2->0


Marnid
wooden_stick added (instead of the club this really makes the impression he just broke it from a tree some days ago)
boots removed (he sold them)
Cha 6->8 (he had fewer stats than the usual)
Trade 3->4 (he is the only real merchant between the heroes and many of them have trade of 3)

Ymira
Cha 6->9 (useless but she has only a few skills)
Surgery 1->0 (Surgery is tought on universities)
Wound tr 1->2


Rolf
Leather boots, nordic_veteran_archer_helmet, itm_leather_covered_round_shield, sword_khergit_3 added.
Str 10->13, Int 13->10 (Str is far better for a warrior. He has no Int based skills.)
Power throw 2->0
Power draw 0->2 (at his home, near Ehlerdah there are forest bandits who use bows and not throwing weapons)
Weapon master 2->3 (He has high weapon skills)
Inventory 2->1
Surgery 1->0 (Surgery should be only for doctors wound treatment is better)
Wound treatment 0->1
Persuasion 0->1 (a single point suits for an obvious swindler)
Prisoner m 0->1 (he kidnapped travellers as a bandit leader)

leather_steppe_cap_a and steppe horse, nomad bow and arrows added. Maybe a higher price needed.
Int 12->8, Str 9->10, Agi 9->12 (only a warrior!)
Weapon skills from 90->  1h 100, 2h 70, pole 100, arch 110, xbow 70, thr 90 (because he is a nomad)
Riding 2->4 (nomad!)

Bunduk
kettle hat, hide boots added. (Swadian)
Str 12->11, Agi 8->9  (he's a crossbowman)
Weapon stats 105->  1h 115, 2h 105, xbow 125, the rest 95  (swadian crossbowman)
Ironflesh 3->4 (at level 9 he deserves to be the toughest guy between the heroes)
Athletics 1->2
Spotting 0->2 (being on lookout a lot)

Blue tunic, woolen hose and throwing_daggers added. That long dress wouldn't fit for an agile rouge.
Weapons 80->  throwing 100, 1h 70, the rest 50 (only level 2)
Looting 0->3 (thief and too thoroughgoing when robbing corps)
Athletics 2->4 (she is very agile)

Generally I would like more medieval hats for commoners and nobles. A better looking tabard because the commoner clothes look far better than this.

Some random elements would be cool related to the heroes' sympathy and antipathy. A full random setup would need a lot of dialogs but there might be 2 friend and 4 enemy setup for each hero. And at the start the game would choose randomly 1 and 2 from them. This would only duplicate the number of the current dialogs.
It would be cool if a character likes another one in a campaign and hates him/her in the next one.
And the sympaties and antipaties don't need to match. Like in the reality xxx may like yyy but yyy may even hate xxx.
The game is quite old now. I'm relatively new to M&B but it is boring already to know well who will like or dislike each other in a new campaign.

Well that's a great job there. But I have to say I partly disagree in Nizar.Yes he is not educated, yet education don't makes anyone smarter. Education does only provide some information and it has nothing to do with intelligence. In my opinion; he deserves a high intelligence and a higher charisma, also agility (he plays an enstrument man). Addition, you forgot to mention some powerdraw for Nizar.

Nizar is a tricky guy. He's only on level 3 but his ironflash and power strike are on level 3 - the best values between the heroes.
Good point giving him level 1 power draw. I would sacrifice his single point in shield skill.
He has no skills which would need more intelligence but has high strength and agility based skills. Even though intelligence of 9 sounds good. Str and Agi 8, Int and Cha 9.

I'm thinking yet to give Katrin some useful equipment because she sold her stuff for being a soldier.

Well, killing people(more experience) doesn't make you more intelligent too, right? :roll:

I usually use emoticon which actually corresponds to my actual expression.
And I meant just fact, that in game you can expand your intelligence after you gain exp by killing people, what in my opinion is.... Kinda weird.

I like the general idea, especially with their equipment, it would give the companions more personality and variety to start with.

I disagree about Ymira and Nizar though. Ymira is supposed to be a merchant's daughter and good at managing households, though the inventory management skill is a dump stat for companions I think it makes sense for her to have this much. Nizar is a poet and womanizer, maybe reduce his INT a bit if that's the cost for him having higher charisma, but reducing it by 3 seems a little much. His STR and AGI are fine as is I think.

OK, you have right about Ymira. (description edited)
But I disagree about Nizar. Matter of taste. As the original stats and story suggest he is a tough warrior with flowers of speech and not a womanizer with a little martial abilities.
