Hi lads...

Just passing by to give you cheers in this our most darkest time !

I've been between some problems... normal life issues, but I promise to return soon

Soon... maybe I can change my laptop... maybe I can get back in to modding

Cheers mates !

Lover Out...

Follows the movies I think and it's for 1.011.

Plus we're the only LOTR mod with both a dwarf, a blob AND a witch-hunter on their team. How can we be anything BUT better than the other mods?

What makes this lotr mod different from any other one?

Well the fact that's campaign driven for one. Like the old Gallipoli mod-type-campaign driven.

No Sandbox gameplay here.

Quick note:
I think the "Evil-men" you mentioned are more known as "Haradrim"(methinks)
It would be a cool mod

Ok, so please don't shoot me based on my question.  However, why don't you guys join with TLD and help them bring out the mod.  Then, continue with your project incorporating what you have and what they have in a "movie mini-mod." There originally was someone doing this for TLD and I can't remember if it was completed for .808.

In reference to the differences between your mod and theirs, I'm sure you guys could deviate in whatever manner you wish as IIRC they will make their code open source with this upcoming port.

Anyway, it could be a manner of saving energy on all sides and possibly help make both mods come out quicker.

Fleshy Starfish: No. For a nuber of reasons posted on every other mod thread this suggestion has popped up on.

No, I made my own. I've decided not to use anything used in previous mods, because it makes it a little too unoriginal.

BTW, if anyone is wondering why I havn't been around lately, it's because I've decided to make this mod for Warband, and I'm waiting for the final release. I'm still working on models in the meantime though.

You mean final release of Warband? There's a possibility that it never gonna happen.
My optemistic assumption the final patch won't come out even in 2011.

When I say "final release" I mean the last patch that Taleworlds releases. The reason for that is so I don't have to keep on porting it over. I know I don't actually have to, but I would like the gameplay to be as smooth and bugfree as possible.

My OSP wasnt used in any mod so far, its from unrelated mod for unrelated game so I dont think there are any problems with them being "unoriginal".

BTW: You said you made your own gondor models. Care to show us?

EDIT: No need, I found them and I must say I find it weird that you dont want to use my OSP. Your Gondorian soldiers arent all that close to what can be seen in films

Just compare your models:

mb20.jpg

BTW: Why they have 2nd Age Numenorian shields? White tree coat of arms used in third age is different and the tree have leaves (like on my shield)

Together with Turambar we managed to bring our work as close to movie version as we possibly could. Im not sying that your models are wrong or something, they just arent close to what you can see in movies despite that you say you want to base this mod on them. Im only offering a comment on this one as rest of the stuff looks pretty nice.

Yeah, I know there are still problems with my stuff, and the Gondor armor isn't actually done yet, I just did a quick mock up for now. I probably won't end up using your models, but would you mind if I use some of the textures? I could't find any better ones than I have, and I suck at making my own.

Thanks for the input though!

Pauldrons and wristguards are x1.5 too big. Otherwise nice models

It's not fair to compair models from M&B with the one's from WB. Besides, as GetAssista mentioned your models have bad proportions in the shoulders. Although the quality and the textures are good.

Those models were made for Medieval 2 Total War so they are bellow quality level of either M&B or Warband and pauldrons were compromise, at least they dont clip horribly like their first version .

I know that, but still same model will look different in M&B and WB.

It's actually strange that nobody has ever made any lotr or at least Gondor armour OSP. Even for M&B

I blame TLD

Although iirc Brego did some movements in that direction.
