Sergeant
This is the NEW lotr mod. Officially titled "Heroes of Middle Earth".
My reasons for making it are as follows:

1. I hadn't yet found a good LOTR mod that was accurate to the movies.

2. I wanted to make one.

Features:

8 factions; Gondor, Rohan, Elves, Dwarves, Mordor, Isengard, Evil Men, and Goblins of Moria.

All new items.

Campaign based gameplay:
Using the quick battles feature there will be a campaign of sorts.
So far only good campaign is planned. If I can get a team of people who are willing to work on scenes then I will put in an evil campaign in as well.

Many new playable races incuding:
Elf
Dwarf
Orc
Uruk-hai
Troll (not for sure)
Goblin
Hobbit

I'm not an experienced coder, so I can't promise any gameplay changes.

From now on all new screenshots will be posted here:

Rohan Sword:

Rohan Spear:

Rohirrim Warrior:

Current Mod team.

Modelling:
Myself
Blobmania

Music:
Blobmania

Everything else:
Me again.

IMPORTANT!!
If you would like to help with scene props, coding, or new animations, please PM me. Also, custom textures such as the ones that Faradon is so good at making would be greatly appreciated.

Umm... yes. Sort of. But unless they're still working on it, I'm thinking that a new one might be... appreciated. Besides, we need something for Warband. Eventually.

No offence to The White Tree moderators out there. I only say that 'cause it still hasn't really been released for us English speakers yet.

@Uhtred Ragnarson
Okay, I have most of the Uruk-Hai and Dwarf factions done already, so I'll let out some screens soon.

Good luck.

I have a high elven armor & weapons set from the movies lying about in the old fantasy mod download, you can use 'em if you want.

If I remember correctly, Ak Ela isn't that great? The Last Days is  being ported I think but its taking forever. And good point, we do need one for Warband. I know Khazad-Dum is in the makings and will be great but only focuses on moria. Good luck

@Highelf

Thanks, but I was getting kind of tired of the same stuff being recycled for every mod with elves in it. I'll try my hand at making elf equipement, and if it isn't as good as yours, I guess I'll have to recycle.

Still trying to figure out how to upload pics on here. Argh. Maybe tomorrow.

Well, my profile pic is one of the screens from the Mod. Look at that while you wait I guess.

i think anyways you will not find all models with was on the moovie so that sound's more like time wasting

Another one, with apparently a higher chance of actually being released in English? Good luck, mate! Hope to see this out whenever you feel it's ready.

Since I'm a bit of an Afficientist, I do wonder if there's need for yet another mod, when so much work has already been poured into The Last Days. There was an old Movie-Armour Mini-Mod for TLD that didn't get finished. Considering TLD will port to Warband at some point (almost definitely), before too long (the reason the current port took so crazy-long, is that they lost MOST of their stuff, and had to remake about 90% of it over the years, without their main guy), I'd like to suggest that it may be more adequately invested to help the TLD staff, and to make a Movie-Mini-Mod.

The Mini-Mod would be TLD in base, but would have Movie Armour, movie characters (Lurtz, Sharku), and the general movie-theme present in the LotR films. If you want, you could also do a combat-re-stat to make it more movie-like.

I think your mod could be very good. Just that, I don't want to have the quality spread across seven mods, I want to be able to reach it all within a few mods >_<. Best of luck with whatever you decide to do. Should you be interested in this idea, I can talk to the TLD staff for you.

Thank you for your time.

Be creative people! How many lord of the rings mods are there out there. Make a native american mod or a savanna mod where you are running around as big lions or something. Or why not a cowboy mod...or a troll mod where you play as trolls in forests with spears and clubs. Or why not a mongol only mod...or why not a chinese mod with a dynasty warriors like theme.

Or why not make a under sea mod. Where you play as whales and mega octopussies and white sharks. Or why not make a mod based on the pirates of the carribean movies. Or why not make a zombie mod...or a jurassic park mod. For every game out there there are always people that HAVE to make mods on lord of the rings...be a bit creative.

The lord of the rings is a great book, but there are better ideas for game mods...

I definitely agree with connors here, see if you can help TLD with making models and all that so were not playing a bunch of mods to try to get the best from each. If you do decide to do your own thing, I'd suggest retexturing the berserkers (the body should have white paint too, the helmet should look more like this
d_15150.jpg
, and I'm sure you know this but make sure you give them this
Action%20Figure%20Toy%20Biz%20TTT%20Uruk-Hai%20Berserker%20Series5%202003.jpg

good luck whatever you decide to do

Because modders make the mod they want to see and not what others want to see.

i sense a dead mod coming along BUT if you actually make it more power to ya not that i would play it because i think lotr kinda sucked

One thing: is this goin' to be for M&B or for WB? cause in the introduction you said that we will need a mod for WB about LOTR but from what i can see from the screens there is for M&B
