help with vertex buffer

in version .903 there is no longer an option in configuation for "render buffer size"  only texture, I keep getting the message
"Out of Static vertex buffer memory. Needed =  320947 Available: 57825
Expanding Buffer Capacity to  385136 "  in my RGL-log and having CTDs, in the old rgl_config it states that if u recieve this message u should increase the render buffer size to avoid CTds.

I would really appreciate any help as i get a CTD almost every battle even with all settings lowest and this is making MandB unplayable for me.
 
I'n currently in dx7, tried in 7 and 9  same problem both ways


(edit)  Ive been playing around toggling all the performance suggestions found here, looking at the old rgl it would seem i actually need to increase my settings in this case to avoid the problem, which would actually make sense since the video card is the best part of my PC, and ive noticed while playing M2TW increasing settings to a point increases performance.
however when i put the setting way up in MnB im getting a CTD loading the game, decreased settings CTD either loading a battle or in the middle of it no explanation on CTD but always in the rgl log it shows

as the last entry.  is there no way to get to the text file where the configure settings are now stored or to somehow increase the render buffer size?  it has to be this since it states it in the old RGL-config and i never had this problem in previous versions even playing wth good settings and high battle editor numbers i think around 200
 
:sad:  thanks anyway, I was told ur the master so i guess all hope is lost,  ur other guides were useful though i managed to increase my pc performance over all so thanks
