Help with quest, capturing 4 Vaegir infantry

Hi all. Introduced myself in the suggestions thread but I might as well do it again.

Male Swede who discovered the game last week and have played it for about 5 hours a night since then. Very, very good. I haven't played a game this intensively in two or three years (since Oblivion I think). Mount & Blade is Pirates, Elder Scrolls, Total War and Die by the Sword put together Almost at least. For the first time I'm controlling a single unit combined with the tactical elements of medieval battles. And it's not just clicking. You've got different approaches and moves. Last night I was chasing this horseman as battle raged around me. After a while we meat head on and I realize his horse has taken lots of arrows, so I swing low. His horse dies, he flies to the ground. While turning around I down two archers, one swinging right and the other as I quickly swing again to my left. Before coming around and finishing the unhorsed rider. I mean scenes like that, no other game does that. Then add the exploration, factions/relations, looting/raiding, quests, tournaments (which could be made even better), alternatives in how you play as in fighting with a faction, helping a claimant or going rebel.

It's awesome already and the potential is mind blowing. Glad I discovered it now with the add on coming out so soon (the fixes in Warband sound really promising), and I hope they keep developing the game.

Enough on that now, you all know this

I need help. I'm a Nord vassal and we're waring the Vaegirs. King Ragnar wants me to bring in 4 Vaegir infantry. I have, but I still can't finish the quest. I have 2 Vaegir Archers, 2 Vaegir Footmen and 1 of their lords. No dice. So my question is, only some infantry are defined as infantry? Archers aren't infantry, is that it?

Yes, you need a specific kind of troop. Specifically, the one called "Vaegir Infantry". No other type will do. You see the troop's name and number when taking prisoners. Try using a mace to get as many as you can.

Now for the quest. Vaegir Infantry is a certain type of troop, like Nord Huskarl, or Swadian Knight, or Khergit Tribesman. So, you have to find a lord that have these troops, or if your lucky, find a deserterparty with only Vaegir Infantry in it.

You're in a bit of a tough spot here, its not often you see infantry units at that high tier (Vaegir Infantry is a tier 4 troop), but keep at it, you'll get them eventually.

So, if you are lucky enough to find a deserterparty with Vaegir Infantry you should make sure your troops use blunt weapon, and use a blunt weapon yourself, and make sure you knock out more then enough Vaegir Infantry before you finish the rest of them : )
