Help with Mod Download.

OK, so I really enjoy playing M & B and I have downloaded SOME mods but there getting very boring and i would like to try out new ones. So here's the problem, When you download most of the time it tells you to "Open" or "Save" so I press open and everything is fine, but when it opens and i extract the file I have no clue where to put it. I read a little bit on it saying like "Put in mod folder" but on my comp all it has is two documents for M & B, Mount and Blade and Mount and Blade savegames, nothing else, and when i try to put into Mount and Blade it doesn't do anything except open a new M & B because its just a shortcut. I'm not that technical but I love playing different mods for M & B, so if anyone can tell me what to do to get them It would be very kind. thanks

Sounds like your extraction program has a mind of its own. What are you using - winrar, 7zip...?
You should extract the mod to the program files / mount&blade / modules.

Alternately, it might be easier for you to download to desktop, extract the mod there and drag/and/drop it to the modules folder. 

(The mount & blade savegames folder is only for save games and nothing else).

I'm pretty sure I'm using winrar. But that's the problem, I cant get to the modules folder because I cant find the folder that show the properties.

I understand - but I don't get it. Are you using Vista? or have you bought it through Steam?

If your having trouble finding it do this.
(1. Open mod
(2. Put opened mod onto desktop
(3. Right click and go to send to
(4. Send it to compressed (zipped) folder
(5. When its done sending it right click on the compressed (zipped) folder which should be on your desktop
(6. Right click again but this time go to open with
(7. When there you should get the option to choose program...
(8. Click it and then a little window will pop-up with options to choose to open it
(9. Underneath the options there should be something that says Browse...
(10. Click it and another window will pop-up
(11. The folders in the new window should be in alphabetical order but even if not try to locate the folder that says Mount&Blade
(12. Double click it and the new window should show you the components in Mount&Blade
(13. Locate the folder that says Modules "Mods"
(14. Drag and drop the mod you first opened into the folder that says Modules

That up there is unnecessary but if worst comes to worst and there are no other ways to find it you could do that, I just think its kinda a waste of time but hey, that's just me.
